Where to Find Hope After I’ve Lost It

 Finding Hope

When you’re alone, how do you feel? Do you feel satisfied? Are you ready for whatever life throws at you? Maybe you feel like a failure and you’ve had enough of life’s bullets. You could just be ready to just give up. It’s possible you’re collapsing under the heavy weight of everyone’s expectation. Let me send a little hope your way.

Some people are sick of hearing about Jesus, but he is the source of hope. He knows exactly what you’re going through. In fact, He’s experienced it! Before He dies on the cross, He prays and asks begs God for a different option (no one wants to be tortured, then left to die by hanging on a piece of wood). He is in such deep agony at this point just thinking about what lay ahead, that He was sweating blood (Luke 22:44). He even says to His disciples in Matthew 26:38, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death”.

That’s only a fraction of what Jesus had to go through because He loves you. The only way that we could have the possibility of encountering Jesus is through the death of Jesus. That’s where our hope comes from. He is our light at the end of the tunnel. We can know that our future has a great ending on one condition. You have to accept this free gift of salvation that God put in front of your face. Life sucks, but would you rather go through life alone or with someone who is bigger and better than life’s problems?

But I’m not perfect…

THAT’S GREAT! I mean not really… but that means you get it! You’re not perfect. I’m not perfect. We all have flaws except for Jesus! He is our gateway to receiving the grace of God that we sinners don’t deserve. We get to go to Heaven for eternity. No more sucky days, no more aches, and NO MORE SUFFERING. A dear friend of mine just said today that our life on earth is like our wilderness period. All that matters, in the end, is that we still have our eyes fixed on Jesus and she’s totally right!
