My sister and I went on a scavenger hunt throughout Richmond this weekend. It was well worth our time and we saw a lot of cool things. I love scavenger hunts and it all goes back to when I was a kid. I have always loved exploring. At my parents’ house, there used to be a lot of woods behind them (now, all the trees are cut down and a bunch of thorn bushes are growing back there). I would go with my siblings into the woods and we would spend hours exploring. It was probably my favorite part of my childhood. Just being outside was always my favorite.
Like I said, I’ve always loved exploring. Recently I was bitten by the travel bug and I’ve just been itching to go explore somewhere. Due to lack of funds and an abundance of responsibilities, my sister and I just explored our own neighborhood. Well… It took about 20 minutes to get there, but you get the idea! No expensive flights or hotels.
We had a lot of fun going on our scavenger hunt. We didn’t find everything, but we found a lot. Early on, we found a dedicated bench. This is dedicated to the Beran family. I don’t know who they are or what they did, but that’s what this bench is dedicated to.
Lilly thought these flowers were pretty (as do I) so she took a photo. The flowers weren’t a part of our scavenger hunt, but Lilly wanted to take a photo anyway. I thought I would take an artsy photo for you guys! She’s so cool. I love her.
We found a fountain whilst we were meandering around the Virginia Capitol grounds. The grounds around the capitol were really pretty and this was just a beautiful addition to it.
This is when we were on the VCU campus. We were going to get Starbucks at the cool library VCU, but they closed when we got there. On our way to find another Starbucks, we saw this beautiful rainbow. It wasn’t even on our scavenger hunt, but we found it! There were lots of pretty things that we saw that weren’t on our list.
Then at last, we watched the beautiful sunset to end our day. This was probably the prettiest thing to find on our scavenger hunt. We weren’t the only ones here watching the sunset. There were at least 4 other people because the view is amazing.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed it, here’s the link to the scavenger hunt list. We had such a fun day, I definitely want to do it again sometime soon! My question for you is: What is your favorite place in your city?
