Anyone who knows me knows that I love Christmas. Recently, I’ve kept a countdown. I always know how many days until Christmas. Today, It’s 100 days! I didn’t start “celebrating” until last year when I still lived with my parents. We made a Christmas dinner and I’m pretty sure I decked myself out in some Christmas attire. This year, I’ve had it in the back of my mind for a couple of months now and it’s finally here! My only question now is how far is too far?
I will say celebrating Christmas is not the same when everyone else is still getting used to new schedules with the new school year, but it’s not impossible. I will say I admire Christmas too much to do the whole shebang way before the actual holiday but I love it enough to do some of it before. To celebrate for the 100 days celebration, I’ll just pick a few things that I love about it and run with that.
How do I Celebrate?
When I think of Christmas, I immediately think of spending time with family. I’m 23 and single, so when I say family, I mean like parents and siblings, but you can, of course, take it how it fits for you. Personally, I already spend a lot of time with them because I’m such a big family person, and this is just a great excuse for spending time with them!
Lots of Food
Another thing that brings our family together, as well as most other families for the Christmas season, is delicious food! Make a big meal and share with your family. If you don’t have a big family like I do, you could save leftovers or invite some friends over to celebrate! It’s nice to be invited for a celebration, whether or not it’s for a holiday 100 days away.
My sister and I are spending time together today and we’re going to do some Christmas shopping. It’s never too early to get Christmas shopping done. If we don’t find something for everyone, we’re at least going to get an idea of what to get them. We don’t want to make it stressful, but both of us like gift shopping, so it’ll be fun. We’re also just hanging out for the day in general.
We’re also just hanging out for the day in general. Sister bonding days are always so fun. My sister is literally my best friend. Since we’re not living together anymore, we look for an excuse to do anything fun together. So today, we’re going to get Starbucks and window shop! Sisters are really great for that.
I don’t know about you, but I love to make things. Sometimes, it doesn’t turn out well, but sometimes it does! I have a whole board of Christmas crafts on Pinterest. If you don’t like the things on my board, the rest of Pinterest has a bunch of other stuff. I think the main idea is to do something fun. If it doesn’t turn out the way you want, it will be a fun memory to share with the ones helping you do it!
Last year, around the Christmas season, my mom, sister, and I went to something at my parents’ church for a bunch of women to learn how to make Christmas bows! I really loved it and I ended up wearing it in my hair. Honestly, it can be either. I personally love crafting, so I’ll probably do a whole post on that closer to Christmas.
What will you do?
I feel like that’s a good chunk of stuff to do to celebrate 100 days to Christmas. It may be a bit overload, but you could just take 1 or 2 things and roll with it. If you want to see what I end up doing from all of this, follow me on Instagram. I’ll end up posting throughout the day! If you did something to celebrate, I wanna know! Tag me in your pictures on Instagram! I hope you have a merry day! 🎄
