My sister and I had another “sister day” because we’re best friends. We ended up going to a festival in a local park that was throwing something called Hogtober Festival. It had a bunch of BBQ food trucks and a lot of beer. We didn’t actually partake in the beer or the BBQ, but we did explore the area. It is such a beautiful area and I could definitely see myself moving down there eventually.
There were quite a few fun characters at the festival. There weren’t a lot of people our age and both my sister and myself are not as outgoing as most. My sister isn’t old enough to drink and I was driving, so we didn’t get any beer. I feel like this photo below really captured the essence of everything happening at this festival. It was pretty entertaining.
After wandering around the park, we walked around and explored the area. We found a really cool little walkway. There was a groundhog too, but he was hiding in the bushes.
Something that I really love about exploring is that you find things that you didn’t know were there. Like, who knew Richmond, VA had a mini replica of the Statue of Liberty?! I sure didn’t. Under this was a plaque that described the whole reason behind the replica and I thought it was quite interesting! It’s been around since 1950. So that was cool.
Whilst we were wandering about, we found a community garden. It wasn’t the most well-kept, but there were some really fun areas.
We then walked back to the park and watched the beautiful sunset. It has such a lovely view. I freakin love that park. Anyway, that was our day. We had a lot of fun. I hope you have a wonderful day!
